LETTER FROM KATE BLEVINS, Important information, Please read!!

Due to the recent economic decline, Verde Earthworks has been forced to make some changes in our service, effective immediately.

First of all I want to thank you for understanding the changes your recycling company must swiftly act upon, in order to continue to be successful under the new circumstances we have been handed. Just like a lot of businesses, VEW has been hit hard by the increased costs associated with the economic downturn and we can no longer afford to deliver materials to Sedona Recycles. Therefore, we will be storing your recyclables in a dry, safe place until we have our new recycling center operational within the next few months. As soon as the markets return for recyclable materials, Verde Earthworks will be ready to ship your newspaper, aluminum & steel cans, and the #1 & #2 bottle shape plastics containers to the regional factories, just as they have in the past. The new Recycling Center is near the McGuireville intersection off I-17 in Rimrock.

Verde Earthworks will no longer be able to accept plastics #3-#7. Since July '08 we have accepted these materials, but it is no longer feasible to collect what the industry refers to as "junk plastics," typically shipped to China for a penny a pound, under current market conditions. We sincerely apologize for this service change - it is our company's commitment to always be ethical in our recycling practices. Our route managers have been instructed to leave any NON-RECYCLABLES in your bin.

We will continue to accept your paperboard products (cereal boxes, six-pack holders). We ask that you bag these items along with your newspaper, magazines, junk mail & office paper.

In summary, we are accepting:

Bagged paper: Office paper, envelopes, junk mail, newspaper, magazines & catalogs, paperboard (cereal boxes, six pack holders, gift boxes)
Flattened Cardboard: Corrugated boxes only
Plastics #1 & #2: Bottle shapes only (water bottles, milk jugs, shampoo & cleaning, etc). NO TUBS, NO CLAMSHELLS, NO STYROFOAM
Aluminum , Tin / Steel cans
Glass bottles & jars (No glassware, ceramics or plate glass)
